Truth be told, I believe that just about any plant I come across has some sort of mystical, medicinal power. So, it’s no wonder, when I learn that tree bark from such-and-such tree or leaves from whichever bush are good for treating some ailment, I get pretty excited.
After many visits to the Fijian Islands, I’ve found a bounty of medicinal plants. For example, the bark and stems from Fagraea berteriana flowers, or “bua ni viti,” are pressed into liquid and used to treat asthma and other respiratory problems. Also, Fijians dry and burn a feathery bamboo called “bitu,” then mix the ashes with coconut oil to treat burns. On another visit, I found a liquid from the small tropical tree Syzygium gracilipes, or “leba,” is used to increase fertility.
My aim is to promote safe and effective use of traditional medicines; encourage conservation of medicinal plants; ensure that indigenous traditional medicine knowledge and practices are regained, respected and protected, in the Pacific region.
After many years of study of plants all over the world, I still get excited to continue learning And now, here I am offering you my full attention, my willingness to aid you to better health and well being, and my herbal and essential oils knowledge. Welcome, it is nice to meet you.
